The Problem With Everything Else

Vacuum bags are tedious. Generic containers don't work. We built something better.

❌ Vacuum Bags & Generic Containers

Messy vacuum bags
  • Time-consuming to seal and reseal
  • Crumpled mess - can't see what you have
  • Takes up irregular space
  • Bag waste and seal failures
  • Generic containers lack proper seals
  • No integrated desiccant system

✓ Dry Stack Containers

Organized Dry Stack containers
  • Quick snap-on lids - seconds to open/close
  • Crystal clear - see every spool
  • Stack perfectly for clean organization
  • Reusable forever with rechargeable silica
  • Purpose-built sealing design
  • Included rechargeable desiccant packets

How It Works

The secret? It's the silica packets, not vacuum sealing. A good seal + active desiccant = dry filament.

1

Place Your Filament

Drop your spool in the container. Fits spools up to 200mm diameter.

2

Add Silica Packet

Drop in a fresh orange silica packet. It starts pulling moisture immediately.

3

Seal & Store

Snap the lid on. The container seals well, the silica does the rest. Stack them up and enjoy your organized collection.

Why You Don't Need Vacuum Sealing

Here's what most people don't realize: silica gel removes moisture from the air inside the container. You don't need a perfect vacuum or completely airtight seal. You just need a container that seals well enough to keep most outside air out while the silica pulls moisture from the air that's trapped inside.

Vacuum bags make you work hard for marginal gains. Our containers seal easily, stack beautifully, and the rechargeable silica packets do all the heavy lifting. The lab data proves it works.

Lab-Tested Performance

Real testing. Real results. We sealed a container in a room with 80% humidity and tracked what happened inside.

Testing Methodology

Container sealed in controlled environment with 80% relative humidity. Digital hygrometer placed inside container with fresh silica packet. Temperature maintained at 72°F. Outside humidity remained at 80% throughout test period. Readings taken at 30 minutes and 24 hours.

What This Means For Your Filament

Most filaments print optimally below 20% humidity. Even moisture-sensitive materials like nylon and TPU will stay dry at 9-14% humidity. The silica packets actively pull moisture out - no vacuum needed.

Recharging Your Silica Packets

Our indicating silica packets are rechargeable hundreds of times. Watch the color, know when to recharge.

🟠

Fresh & Ready

Orange color means the silica is dry and actively absorbing moisture from your container.

🟢

Time to Recharge

Dark green color means the silica is saturated with moisture. Time to microwave it back to orange!

How to Recharge in the Microwave

⚠️ Important: Heat slowly to avoid damaging the indicator coating. Never overheat or leave unattended.
  1. Remove from container - Take out the silica packet(s) that have turned dark green.
  2. Place on microwave-safe plate - Spread packets out, don't stack them.
  3. Heat in short bursts - Start with 30 seconds on medium power (50-60%).
  4. Check color and flip - Open microwave, flip packets, check if they're turning orange.
  5. Repeat as needed - Continue 30-second bursts until packets return to bright orange.
  6. Let cool completely - Allow packets to cool for 5 minutes before returning to containers.
  7. Store unused packets - Keep recharged packets in a sealed bag until needed.

Tips for Best Results

  • Lower power for longer is better than high power for short bursts
  • Packets should feel warm but not hot to touch
  • If packets smell burnt or change color permanently, replace them
  • Recharge multiple packets at once to save time
  • One packet typically lasts 2-4 weeks depending on how often you open containers

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Dry Stack filament storage.

Do I really not need vacuum sealing? +
No, you don't. The silica gel does the work of removing moisture from the air inside the container. You just need a container that seals well enough to keep most outside air out. Our lab testing proves this: we dropped humidity from 80% to 14% in 30 minutes, and down to 9% in 24 hours - all without any vacuum. The silica actively pulls moisture out of whatever air is in there.
How many times can I recharge the silica packets? +
Hundreds of times! The indicating silica we include can be recharged over and over. Just microwave them when they turn dark green, and they'll go back to orange and be ready to absorb moisture again. Eventually the indicator may stop changing color, but the silica itself keeps working.
What size spools fit in the containers? +
Our containers hold spools up to 200mm (7.87 inches) in diameter. This covers standard 1kg filament spools from all major manufacturers. There's also room for the silica packet beside the spool.
How long does the humidity protection last? +
It depends on how often you open the container and your ambient humidity. In typical conditions, one silica packet will keep your filament dry for 2-4 weeks. You'll know it's time to recharge when the packet turns dark green. If you rarely open the container, it can last even longer.
Can I stack the containers? +
Absolutely! The flat lids and stable bases are designed to stack perfectly. Build your filament library vertically and save space. The clear design means you can see every spool in your stack without unstacking them.
How do I know when to recharge the silica? +
Just look at it! Our indicating silica is bright orange when it's fresh and actively absorbing moisture. As it gets saturated, it turns dark green. When you see green, it's time to recharge in the microwave. No schedule needed - the color tells you everything.
Are these just repurposed food containers? +
No! While we use food-grade materials, these are purpose-designed for filament storage with proper sealing gaskets, the right size for standard spools, stackable design, and included rechargeable silica system. Generic food containers don't have proper seals and don't come with desiccant packets.
